
“Climb the hill to the church,” they said. “The view is great up there,” they said. “You can see the whole city,” they said. Well the view is ok, but I can’t see the city at all. At least it was good exercise!

Now that’s more like it. That’s a view. This is the church on the other side of town. You can see the original hill that I climbed in the background.

The Chiflon Waterfall. Now this was a hike that was worth the view. The picture doesn’t do it justice.

Lagos de Montebello. There are a total of 59 lakes very close to the Guatemalan border. The lakes are famous for their striking colors, which vary due to their different mineral contents, ranging from emerald and turquoise to dark green, and even purple and reddish black.

Sumidero Canyon was started at about the same time as the Grand Canyon. The walls reach up over 3,000 feet in some places.
