Well it’s been quite the adventure settling back into non traveling life. The first thing I had to do was to move all my stuff out of my dad’s house and shed and back into my house.

Some of the boxes were too heavy for us to carry down the stairs so we improvised with an old mattress sheet.

Instead of making multiple trips we rented a truck so we could do it all in one trip. It saved us a ton of time.

Everything’s back in my house. Now the hard part begins. It actually went really quickly since everything had it’s spot from before I left.

I also had to unpack all the boxes I had sent myself from overseas. It was really exciting to see all the souvenirs that I had forgotten about.

I even got my license plate again. The lady at the DMV spent so much time on the computer, I was afraid she was going to tell me that someone took the rights to it, but it all worked out. I realized that I’ve had this license plate since 1994 and it’s been on at least three different cars.

Next I had to open all my mail! I’m actually still working on this 2 months later…

The last major thing to do was to move all my classroom stuff out of my dad’s shed and into my new classroom. It’s an upstairs room so it was quite a challenge to move into.

All moved in! There’s still a lot of work to do, but at least all the boxes are upstairs (there’s a ton more boxes hidden in the closets).
A lot of people have asked me how it’s been being back. I’m actually really happy to be back. I had a great time traveling, but I was ready to be home. It’s so nice to be in one place and not have to move around so much. I’m glad to be back with my family, friends, and kitties. It’s nice to have structure back in my life
