The entire area around Mole Creek is filled with limestone caves.  I went to Marakoopa Cave.  It was discovered in 1908 by a 13 year old boy as he was hiking around.  His family bought the land and the cave with it and used it for religious ceremonies.  The cave now belongs to the National Park system.

Notice how thin those stalactites are.

This formation looks like a palm tree. They think that these formation form at a rate of one inch per 1000 years so it’s hard to imagine how long it took for something this large to happen.

This area known as the cathedral is where the family would come for prayer and their religious ceremonies.

The family thought this formation looked like the nativity scene.
